For a little over seven years working with children and youth with PDD (pervasive developmental disorder), most of whom do not have language and those that do, have just as many difficulties to communicate.
I decided to go into a contest and participate in a project with the hope of winning and obtaining new resources for augmentative alternative communication. This is where I met Nahuel (as the face of "Manna Developments") and then to the other members of the company. I was thrilled with their projects and the willingness to cooperate with mine. We were lucky to win and get started a trabajar juntos. Yo transmitiéndoles lo que necesitaba y ellos diseñando y creando un material fabuloso.
Poco a poco pude ir introduciendo a mis pacientes en el mundo de la alta tecnología…es decir, tuvieron su primer acercamiento con una computadora. Más adelante llegaron los software de “jugando con imágenes” y el “teclado interactivo”, muy divertidos y novedosos para nosotros. Además de lograr que muchos hagan un “click” con un dispositivo que reemplaza al mouse y es fácil de utilizar para ellos. Realmente todo un logro para mí… juntos descubrimos, nos sorprendimos, investigamos, cantamos, escuchamos cuentos, miramos fotos y jugamos maravillados. Y lo Most importantly, we continue to create new material to continue working.
